LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW OLDHAM COUNTY, OLDHAM COUNTY SCHOOLS, AND OLDHAM COUNTY KIDS WILL BENEFIT FROM THE OC DATA CENTER

WHAT IS IT?

A data center is a 21st-century facility that processes and produces information – something that is essential to today’s modern economy, including schools, businesses, and entertainment. Data centers support digital services like websites, apps, cloud storage, artificial intelligence, and streaming platforms. Within a data center, powerful computers (servers) work to store, analyze, and distribute data. These servers, and the work that they do, serve as the backbone of digital operations, supporting everything from cloud computing and internet services to enterprise software applications and data analytics.

Planned on a 267-acre site in Oldham County, OC Data Center will be centered within the Oldham County trees where 75% (approximately 200 acres) of the site will be preserved as green and open space. OC Data Center will spur economic growth in Oldham County by creating high-paying jobs while generating millions in tax revenue to support schools, infrastructure, and emergency services with very little impact on the community.

WHAT IS A DATA CENTER?

BUT, WHY?

As digital transformation continues to accelerate, data centers play an increasingly vital role in enabling businesses, governments, and organizations to operate seamlessly in a data-driven world. Data centers are critical hubs of the digital economy that enable innovation, connectivity, and productivity across industries without the need for trucking traffic and broader community disruption.

The Investment

A $6 billion investment in this project will make this one of Kentucky’s largest private investments in the state’s history. Beyond this investment, the OC Data Center will attract tech-driven businesses, promoting economic diversification and innovation throughout the broader community.
